goose hunter,

There is no spring season for snow geese here in Alberta. The snow geese that fly north here in the spring fly with a threatened population of Ross's goose that nests in the Arctic. These latter geese migrate down the coast in the fall and are not an issue at that time of year in Alberta.

Spring snow goose season in Saskatchewan is April 1 - 30 west of 106 long, and April 1 - May 31 east of 106 long. Saskatoon is roughly the dividing line of 106 long. I spoke to a wildlife officer and he figures we may see a snow goose hunt in Alberta next spring or in the near future.
I went on my first snow goose hunt in SK over Easter. They're pretty spooky and not real eager to decoy. Didn't knock any down but learned lots for next year. A word of advice: make friends with as many farmers as you can!
