Morels!
I tried to find some Morels a few times last year and no luck. Went out yesterday (June 6) just west of Calgary looking and couldn't believe we found some. This is my first time ever seeing them person.
After about ~3.5 hours we managed about 1.5 lbs worth. Not sure if that's a typical amount or not but I'm pretty happy about it.
After cleaning them we fried some up and the rest went into the dehydrator overnight.
Will try again for more next weekend, hopefully they will still be some out. Next time I'll bring something better for carrying them, I only had a game bag in my backpack which ended up crushing the mushrooms a little bit.
Not sure if anyone else came across this tip, but we didn't wipe out the pan after frying the mushrooms and left it overnight. Then used the same pan for this mornings eggs which had some great flavours leftover in it.
