Suet and peanuts I believe. Jays in our neighborhood have someone feeding them peanuts, I find shells all over the place.

Canmore Bluejays don't seem to bother with my suet or Black oil sunflower seeds - but love unsalted peanuts in the shell.

We have a couple of Blue Jays around and would like to put out peanuts but the Tree Rats will get into them.

Regular old bird seed in a plastic bag from Superstore. Kind of the no-name stuff. I have had as many as four Jays at my bird feeders. They don't seem to be too fussy.

Durum wheat
An old friend once told me they love durum & I believe I have seen them go after it when there has been a spill on the ground.

My neighbour feeds them peanuts all winter from one of those metal ring feeders and then complains about his gutters being blocked with the shells.
The Magpies come for them also. Both do a lot of squalking and screeching

I'd like to feed them lead as they make a terrible racket. But I digress, they are much nicer to have around than crows/ravens/magpies, and will eat almost any mixed birdseed that we put out.

I use black oil sunflower seeds mixed with other seeds and some days the whole Blue Jay team is out there. Have to chase the squirrels away occasionally.
