It should only be 4-2....

Two jerseys on the ice during that last tv timeout.

And talbot hasn’t returned to the bench.

Also note that I removed my oilers avatar! Off the wagon hah!

Well, giving up five straight goals in nine minutes to one of the few teams behind you in the standings is beauty. At least they extended their streak to 6 games, so there is that.....

Wow.

Hello they already fired the coach and the gm, the problem is in the dressing room with the players, 40 minutes of real hockey tonight then a complete absolute shut down maybe they served slurpies in the dressing room and they all got brain freeze

I thought all they needed was to get Klefbom back? Lol. This team is beyond help. Trade Nuge and Draisatl for a D Man. Gotta give up something to get something. I stand by my thought that Klefbom is a number 2 or 3 D Man on 20 other teams. If this team is depending on him to be their stalwart they are in tough.

Not that it changes the fact that the oil suck, but nobody comes back after an extended leave and jumps right in where they left off. Usually takes a couple three games to find the groove and get your timing back. Trading Leon and nuge is ridiculous.

Bro..... do you even hockey...?

Yup.... we looked a little better with Klef, but we obviously lack.
Klef gets better next game. Reggie is in the AHL..... real crapshoot as to whether he’s going to be effective or not.

If stuff rolls right..... we got meaningful games in March. Which is pretty cool. I’ll take it.

NOBODY picked us as playoff bound at the beginning....we’re right where we were predicted to be. Just on the outside lookin in.

I think everyone on the team has bought into ‘learn the system’ .....show we can compete with it..... then MAYBE grab a spicy forward for a playoff run..... but I doubt that’s gonna happen. Big stuff with Chicago and philly didn’t materialize.

I’m very willing to bet management’s marching orders are ‘stand pat.... make it close so games mean something’.

Start giving our Farm hands somecups if nhl coffee.....
Pull off something huge in the summer.

And I’m very much betting it’s
Trade Drai for a forward or two or possibly a D.

Free agency this summer has slot of possibilities.

I feel very sorry for Nuge and McD. You don’t get those years back.

Onto the next game... fix what you need as best you can. Learn the system.

Talbots choked man...... dats gonna b a problem

Talbot was choked the moment they signed an unproven goalie to 4 mill a year for 3 years based on 27 games. All NHL analysts have been scratching their head on that one.

But with that said, Talbot hasn’t instilled any confidence within the organization during this year which is his contract year. You reap what you sow...

Betcha there’ll be some news tidbits tomorrow.

I saw that on sports net as well. Not much, but it was noticeable.

Were the players floating again? Or was it just the jerseys floating to the ice this time?

The jersey throw is old. Been done way to much by several fans throughout the NHL and has no impact anymore. I remember the first time it happened and thats all you heard about. Now it's nothing more than a side note.

I guess if you have $140 to chuck on the ice, then fill your boots. My feelings on that are, you have denounced your team, so you don't deserve to put another one on when you jump back on the wagon. Pathetic!! I would bet the farm that Bessiedog would NEVER throw his jersey!!!! Your a beauty Bessie, best Oil fan ever!!!!

I've never cheered for any other team than the Oil and never will. I was fortunate enough to be around when it wasn't "if we would make the playoffs", it was "who we were going to face for the cup". Was young and spoiled, not knowing how special that was. Now it is more than difficult to keep the chin up, after watching Peter C dismantle the team before he finally got fired. The guys on here that say to trade Leon and Nurse is ridiculous and glad you aren't the new GM. We have bled enough talent out the door, and to trade away more is not going to help turn this titanic team away from the burg.

It will turn around some day, just hope I am around to finally see it.

Have you got anything but grade 3 "humour" to add to this thread? (FYI, it's not funnier the more times you say it.)

For a guy that was a mod, it's not a good look...

I’m good with it. It’s just a bit of ribbing. Goes with sports.....

First let me say tha I am an oilers fan from way back in the WHL days, have seen the good old glory days, sat in the stands regularly until 1998 when I moved overseas, but while there I listened to the games via the internet.

I am as disgusted as anyone with what has been nothing but a gong show for the last 8 or 9 years, to me the ownership group dosn't give a hoot about the product on the ice, they make millions of $$ every year no matter where the team finishes in the standings, throwing your $150 jersey on the ice is just flat out stupid and will never change a thing, save for the fact that you are now out another $150.

The only way the ownership group will get the message is when there are only 5,000 or so paying spectators in the stands, I personally have not seen an oilers game in the new Rogers place and have only been at 1 game in the last 5 years, I know Katz dosent miss me or my money that I would have spent there because people were lined up to scoop up the season tickets where we used to sit, so they March on with what was the old boys club followed by another poor GM, they squandered talent at a high rate and are now stuck with a majority of 3rd and 4th line players with rich long contract that they could not get a bag of pucks for in a trade, nothing will change for years yet.

Anyway that's my take on the situation, at least now that I just watch them on TV I simply change the channel when they tank and smile at the fact that I saved $300 and a trip to Edmonton when it's -40.
