Prophet River had some #5 Golden Pheasant loads in 20gauage. They are nickel plated, and sell for around $15 per box. I find that the nickel plated loads penetrate like shot a size larger.

Default How much do you need?

I am sure I have 6 or 8 boxes of the Remington Nitro copper plated pheasant load in both 5 and 6 shot downstairs. Don't use my 20 for pheasants much anymore since buying the 28 gauge.

Boxes say $17 +, how about 15 a box picked up in Langdon.

Smile #4 or #5

I just pour it in the shell after I seat the wad. I think 4 is a bit much for pheasant, I used to use it for geese, but I have come to believe #6 is the best, maybe #5 if you can ever find it.

I use #6 myself, and find it plenty for pheasant in either one of my 20gauge, or 28 gauge guns.
