Well its a wrap for me. Last day on the trapline
I finished up the year the other day on the line. It was sad to pull all the wolf and coyote snares down. I could have gone a bit longer but don't trust the weather.
I had a good year. I expected a few more marten than I got but got 46 for the season. 2 fisher but saw way more sign of them. Got 2 lynx. Lots of lynx around but I spent more time on other things. I also found out it is easy to get coyotes up there later on in the season. I must have caught close to 30 0f them without much problem. I had a few eaten by ravens and the odd wolf.
Wolves was the highlight for me this year. I got a nice big black on my last check and ended up with 10 for the year. I also found out that Squirrels and weasels are endless as well. Not sure how many I got in the end but it has to be 40 weasels and half as many squirrels. I can't wait till next year.

Well done! You sure gave those wolves a licking. Moose numbers should be on the rise on your line.

Way to go nube , congrats on a great season and now you can go thru the painful withdrawal process like the rest of us .I enjoy your trapline journal and tho it would be a lot of work ,it would sure be cool if you did a video of it something like Andrew and his Wild North ones .

Ya it would be real cool but I forget my camera half the time. I didn't do that great of having it for pics this year either.

Not sure exactly but i wouldn't hesitate to say over 110. I really didn't hit them that hard this year and only had a few baits going at home here that I didn't keep up on much. The fun part was catching them up north. They are real tricky up there but I figured it out near the end of the season on how to make some real quick sets that worked awesome. My coyotes up north are opposite than home here and are cannibals. It makes for an easy chunck of bait. I caught probably around 30 of them up north now I would say easily. 7 in the last check alone. The nice part is they don't seem to have fleas and are smaller in size and easier to skin for some reason.

Nube , would be interested in some of your northern trapline coyote techniques you discovered over the winter. PS I will teach you how to file a chain saw in return.
