No such thing, as cheap flights to Mexico, we want to go in early February and just a bare bone flight is from $750-$800. Unless you fly swoop it is cheaper but you might not get home. Cheaper to fly to Hawaii than Mexico.

90 Day ticker and go on a cruise.
Some crazy deals if your willing to go in under 3 months.
You should find 7 days for under a thousand. Thats Meals/Room and entertainment.
Flights are extra but I did see something at Travel agency offering 7 days with flights for under $1,000.

From another thread:
https://www.yycdeals.com/where-all-i...time-searching
From the article:
The mistake people most often make is thinking that 'The Websites' have control over the prices. They do not. It is the '6 Suppliers' who dictate the prices. 'The Websites' cannot and do not compete against each other on price.
For that reason, the all inclusive package prices displayed on each of 'The Websites' are identical to each other (unless a site is a little behind on getting the latest price updates from 'The Central Hub').
And since The Websites are all displaying identical prices, people often waste a lot of time searching multiple websites.
Adding to the confusion for Canadian consumers is the fact that The Websites all dearly want you to search for and book your next all inclusive vacation through them, to earn a commission from one of the 6 Suppliers.
Their marketing goal is to try and convince you that you will get the best deal exclusively through their website, which is clearly at odds with the technical fact that they are displaying the same prices from the same 6 Suppliers as every other site.
So essentially go to whatever site you like (itravel, redtag, etc...) and take a look. All the discount sites prices will be the same. Some may throw in a bonus if you book with them (ie Petro Points, etc..)

What Tbiddy said is accurate
The resorts are the same price where the savings are if any are the airlines filling up the red eye flights.
11 hour flight leaving at 3 am with a 6 hour stopover in Toronto is $200 cheaper than a direct flight at 8 AM.

100%. I always start my search with zero layovers and go from there. If I don’t have to fly to TO in the middle of the night, I won’t. That is usually why we go to Mexico if we want a quick holiday. 5-6hr direct flight. Most other AI destinations have you routed through TO or to a hub in the US. If I’m going for more than a week, I don’t mind spending an extra day of travel with layovers and probably rent an AirBnB. Looking to Fiji or Bali for our honeymoon in April and the only thing holding me back is the long flights. Don’t know if I can handle being in a tube for that amount of time.

With the American economy strengthening and the rapid growth of the Mexican middle class, the days of cheap Mexican vacations are gone. Unless we get another massive global recession.
We started going to Mexico every year in 07, we were paying $30 CAD a night for a decent hotel in PV. Those same hotels are all around $100 CAD/night now and always booked by the Mexican nationals.

I would gladly pay an extra 200 to fly direct than mess around especially a 6 hour stopover.

Years ago I would get a very cheap flight on Allegiant to Vegas out of Great Falls.Usually under $50 each way if you are flexible on your dates.
https://www.allegiantair.com/booking...2hTAyUZwi3d-5E
Once in Vegas there are cheap flights to almost anywhere in the world.

I guess I should’ve said if gun violence scares you enough to stay away from a place you should avoid most of the US.

My friends wife was one of the doctors that operated o the victims that day in Hawaii.. That was so horrible to read about.
Crap can happen any place.
I have been to both places. Hawaii is nice, Mexico is nice, parts of the caribbean is nice. Each has some ups, each has some downs.
Personally, I like Hawaii for the 100% relaxing end of things. No adventure, no stress. Same stores as we have here. Same language.
My way of hanging out in mexico doesn't include All inclusive. I want to see people and talk with them. Adventure factor is up a bit but not to a unacceptable level in the places I have been. Hospitals are good as well.
Cuba.. Hospitals suck from all reports. Safe though
Dominican.. GROSS never going back, ****ty place filled with some ****ty people. (100% my opinion and experience) Funny though. One of my better friends is from dominica and just brought his family here. Love them all. Seems the best leave.
Cruises.. No adventure at all. Everything taken care of for you. Very safe give or take being thrown over board. :-) Comfortable and good for sleeping/eating This is NOT traveling.
Jamaica.. I didn't spend enough time to tell you the truth.
Vegas. So much fun, so expensive. very draining.
Pheonix. enjoyed it. lots of different places to eat, shoot guns, and golf.
Texas. AWESOME. but got stuck in the wrong part of San Antonio for a about 10 min that felt like a life time. South Padre was so much fun!
Enjoy, take pictures, live a little. No sense being afraid of your own shadow. When your numbers up.. Your numbers up.

Or edmonton, or calgary or toronto or montreal or vancouver... should I go on?? Way more gun violence in any of those cities than here in Montana.

You can get your flights paid for. All you have to do is pick up a suitcase from a man in a sombrero and bring it home.

That’s why I said most of the US. I was just pointing out that you shouldn’t have to bring a flak jacket to Mexico as was stated because a couple of people were shot near the Presidents residence. Mexico is not without its risks but as you stated there is gun violence everywhere. Albeit it seems chances of getting shot are higher in the US than in Canada but that is for another debate.
Set a budget, pick a destination you’re comfortable going to and enjoy yourself!

I recall a famous Army & Navy Surplus store in the US holding a raffle. First prize was a weekend for 2 in Beirut with an Uzi and 1000 rounds of ammo!
