I was 100% sure he would win the leadership of the Cons. Why did Scheer win? I believe it was because Bernier had very, very different ideas, thus, my wingnut term within the Conservative Party. They saw something I did not. McKay is our Saviour.. BEL

IMO the "liberal bought off media" sunk Sheer because he wouldn't march in a rainbow parade and was not allowed to have personal feelings on the abortion issue. They along with jagmeet just kept hammering him on those two issues. I thought the Conservative platform was pretty straight forward but nobody could stand a chance against all the biased media coverage.

I think different ideas are great. The status quo has mired us in mediocrity. Scheer and Trudeau are basically the same guys politically with just slightly different views on a handful of items. Bernier is likely a centrist. Maybe even right of center, but there is nothing conservative about Scheers party.

Unhappy . A Sad State Of Affairs

Whether we like it or not, for very different reasons both Bernier & McKay are 'Spent' political forces (as well as Scheer). Sadly ... they're all Done.

The 'Right Of Centre' in Canada (the CPC) once again needs to reinvent itself and it's leaders. And the sooner the better ... Long before the next federal election.

Up next ... the CPC Leadership Review in April will most likely be a 'Bloody Affair', but it will have to be done.

I’m afraid you are 100% correct. Today’s Liberal and Conservative leaders represent perfectly their parties, for what they have become. Compared to the traditional political doctrine, the three main political parties of Canada are a step behind: the conservative party is actually liberal, the liberal party is socialist and the ndp if a full blown communist party.

Talking about the PPC, even though I fully endorse their libertarian direction, I don’t think they will ever have a real chance of becoming a major political force. Canadians are simply not ready for it. And I don’t only mean eastern Canada.

I 100% agree. It’s amazing how many people truly believe that the CPC is a Conservative party. I can’t believe this is where we are politically.

What truly blows me away is how many people will admit the government does a poor job of anything they are involved in; but still want bigger governments??!?!?? One of the very basic concepts of the Libertarians is small government. If government does poor work let’s allow them to do as little as possible.
