Default Red deer river (drumheller)

I am dropping the kids and wife off at the dinosaur museum on saturday and will have about 3 hours of fishing to do. I would love catch a few walleye and i would like to keep 1 pike if i can hook one big enough. What are my chances of catching one in that area? I was going to toss spoons for the pike and maybe just a soft jig for the walleye does that sound right?

Also are there any trout in the area around the Drum? The regs for the area have a trout limit of zero for north of the Tolman Bridge but dont mention trout for south of it. Does that mean i can keep 2 trout as per the general regs for the area?

Trout would fall under the general regs if not mentioned. I think you would be awfully lucky to catch a trout in the Drumheller area. I haven't heard of anyone catching any there. I haven't done much fishing in Drum, but I think your best bet would be Goldeye. You could also catch some Walleye or Pike. The water is exceptionally dirty this year. It looks like disgusting chocolate milk.

Sorry I'm not much help, good luck.

Chris
