small brown jig or worm on a bare jig head always seems to work for me out there. Havent fished it in a month or two though. Cant remember the last time i went and got skunked in a day. Usually pretty good

If you have a boat, troll with yellow wardens rooster tail spinners. Yellow flatfish work good too. Best times to troll are in the evening. Garlic marshmellows/worms work good on pickerel rigs if you bait fish from shore. Also if you are using just spinning equipment try a casting bubble with a mosquito/random brown dry fly and cast and retrieve from shore when they are surfacing.

Default Bang On!!

I think Mulestalker nailed it, its pretty damn close to an hour and 10 mins from Drum. Heading there myself this weekend. Hopefully the fishing will be good. Bring the fly rod and the ultra lite, hopefully figure out what they are after.

If your fishing from shore! South end on the rocks its deep. Use Green giant corn! and a bobber or sinker.

If trolling Wedding band and worm.

I caught a 4 lb rainbow there 1 month ago. Btw the lake Turns on at 5:30am and Turns off at 9am. The nothing then 7 PM the fish come up till about 10 pm.

Good luck.

Carolside was slow. It was the slowest I had ever seen there. Water levels were down and this whole year the water has had terrible visiblity. We did not too bad at Blood Indian, was surprised that the spin cast out did the fly fishing.

Glad to hear you did well there, its a nice place and the fishing isn't too bad. I'll be going back there again.

Chris

Im from Calgary, but I fish Carolside often. I haven't tried the Red Deer this year. In fact all Ive ever tried out there was at the Morrin Bridge and caught Goldeye. It is very muddy this year, so is Carolside. This past weekend you couldn't see deeper than 18", it was brutal.
