average size is 11" give or take.
I like it cuz there's the chance of getting brookies and cutts too.
also I looked up the stocking reports and they put a few big @$$ old brood stock bows in there this year.
trouble if it get's crowded cuz it's a very small pond, especially if there's one person in a belly boat. but if that happens there are several creeks in the immediate area that produce well (mainly brookies)
I'm going tomorrow

how big is this pond, could you put a fishing kayak in, and it would be decent?

pond is pretty decent, maybe bit smaller than allen bill if i remember correctly. however 60% of it is only 2 feet deep. there's fish there, but they'd likely spook easily. you could put a fishing kayak on it as long as there were no other watercraft
google earth, east of barrier lake near the highway. sibbald meadows pond is west of sibbald lake

Sibbald Pond
A friend of mine told me that they stocked the lake with some monster walleye. Anywhere from 6 - 8 lbs. Not sure if it's true. Did anyone else hear about this?? ... It sounds made up lol

I saw an osprey pull a 16". The pond is not very deep. I bet it is a well-fed osprey.

the pond is a solid 11 feet at it's deepest. however 70% of it is under 5 feet.
I ice fish it sometimes.

I KNOW there's fish in the creek downstream of powderface trail, and I've heard there's lots of brookies to be had in the pools above and below the pond. One time ice fishing there I caught a 12" brookie that must have come from the creek, as they were not stocked in there

Bear in mind that the creek, as part of the Jumpingpound drainage, is C&R except for Brook Trout (limit 2). There are rainbows in there from the pond, but they will need to be released.

Rainbows and Brook trout are on the suppression list for that creek if you have the brook trout suppression permit! Looks quite interesting!!! Tasty too!
Sad that its brook trout limit 2 - on a stream that they are allowing the suppression guys n gals to take unlimited. Wish it was 5, atleast enough for a good pan fry with the fam, not just cat food!

Good reason to get on with the suppression project. The reason they keep it at 2 is because many people cannot identify the different species, so they want to make sure that if someone is misidentifying they don't keep very many.

totally.
I was with a suppression friend of mine, and I actually did quite well in ID on the fish. He showed me some things, but I think next season when I will have more time to dedicate, I will go on the fish bonking team!
