I don't even know what to say anymore. You get worn down trying to counter claims made by idiots. Luckily they don't have any real legislative power.

I was an observer at a LPC convention in Ottawa in ~1993, there was a similar resolution and debate which I similarly dismissed as unrealistic and unlikely. The result was C-68.

The CPC government is getting a little 'long in the tooth' and seems to be having a lot of the ethics and policy issues (Neo-Liberalism, pro-bankster, anti-worker, FWP, pro Isreal) common with many recent Lib & PC governments too long in power.

On this forum I notice a downturn in support for the CPC and a willingness to support 'anybody else', and recent polling numbers suggest this is common everywhere. The unrelenting nature of the forces advocating citizen disarmament is very troubling and IMHO we need to be more united in our opposition to those who seek to reduce citizen rights and power.

You would think the "liberal children' would have some fresh ideas of trying to improve society. Or maybe improve on Dada Trudeau's constitution.

But no.

Just the same old "lets build a straw man and blow it down".

or "It's the constitution stupid" a famous quote the liberal romper room.

A long gun registry would have made a firearm confiscation a lot easier because they'd already know what you owned. IMO any firearm registration without it would be a fiasco and a lot of firearms owners simply would not willingly turn in their firearms. Making laws that the general public won't follow would really show a lack of confidence in the Liberals if they were elected and went ahead with this.

Here's a reply from my Aussie buddy about the Australian firearms confiscation:

"Oh it was great. Because I was licensed and all my firearms were registered, I had to hand them all in. I lost a 5 shot Bentley shotgun (because it had more than 2 cart capacity) , two semi auto .22s And A French foreign legion 308 carbine (because it had a shorter barrel, duh) 3 years after I handed them in I got a call from the police asking where they were. I said I had handed them in and they said they had no record of me doing so and accused me of not handing them in at all. So I told them to bash it up their arse."
