Sheep - been gone all weekend, hence the late reply. My dad did not get his trophy sheep as we 999 it. He was a 9 so will be a 10 heading into the 2008 draws. Getting closer!! Congrats to your buddy, should be an awesome hunt.

I checked my draws on albertarealm & found I had been drawn for Cow Elk & Muley Buck, unfortunately I was not drawn for Bull Moose. I just hope my health doesn't interfere too much with my ability to hunt this fall.

I do believe your wife can hunt cow elk from start of bow season with a bow (August 25-Sept.16) then rifle season from September 17-December 20 in WMU 527.
Good Luck bulldog and to the Mrs.

I can't seem to find my results. But I have a question... when I look at my priorities, I have 0's for all my deer and elk, and have 1's for my sheep and moose. This is the first year I have registered for anything. Why would that be?

You must have drawn deer and elk but not moose and sheep. Unsuccessful draws would be +1 in priority as soon as the draws posted. Successful would go to zero.

holy smoke. I just figured it out. I got drawn for all my whitetail and mulies AND an antlerless elk. Wow, I'm feeling mucho lucky! of course now I'm thinking I need a bigger freezer. The reality is my wife is going to say at Christmas "So did you enjoy a season of hiking carrying a rifle you never shot?" LOL Anyone want to give some lessons and a couple of your less productive hunting areas? LOL Gee, someone said this feels like christmas, and it DOES!

Had to do some figuring and clicin around but I got drawn for :
Antlered mule deer...324
antlerless mule deer...324
antlerless white-tail ...210
antlerless elk.....330
every time I get cow elk I see all kinds of bull moose in 330 and when I have the bull moose tag I generally see several cow elk.

Thanks man. I just discovered that a few minutes ago. LOL
So I drew antlerless elk, antlerless white-tail, and both antlerless and antlered mule deer, all in 312.
Being a rookie big game hunter here, can anyone suggest some good areas in 312 for these? Yeah yeah, I know... no one is going to steer me into their favorite areas LOL But maybe one you don't usually bother with but that might hold some game or have a sympathertic landowner? I don't want to steal anyone's trophy, just a little something for the freezer! LOL

There's not much game in 312 and and hardly any hunters so land owners will be more than happy to give you permission i'm sure.
sorry...couldn't help myself...if your outgoing and personable and not afraid to knock on some doors then all i can say is giver...study some maps of areas you'd like to get into(m.d. maps) and see about finding some land owners to discuss...sometimes helping them with things like gopher control in the spring is a good way to get your foot in the door? If your into bowhunting then it would probably be much easier too fyi...and take advantage of the early season before the guns start runnin around....even say that you'll be gone as soon as the elk open up on guns....works for me
