Default Moose Calling in Nov

I am still in the hunt for a moose in bow zone and was curious if anyone has had any success calling Moose this late in the season.

About as much success as picking up a gal at closing time in a bar!

Really? What type of call would you use? I'm thinking the rut is long done. Curious as my son has a bull tag

sometimes a gal has had just way to much booze and closing time is their last chance to get picked up , it works great sometimes, but usually it don't work at all

I saw a bull mounting a cow 3 days ago, the cows are in the second estrous right now. It's a great time to call.

Yup, we have called in several moose in November, I only remember 2 calling back but the others tried to sneak in down wind to see what was going on. My cousin waited for 5 mins to get a good shot at a bull, he was courting a cow and ended up getting harvested as soon as he finished mounting her on November 28th.

I have had similar experience, called...got no audible reply but two young bulls popped out on a cut line to see what was up. Fresh snow first week on November.

Some good info guys thanks. Might give it a try, whats the worst that could happen.......
I've had limited experience calling moose so new to that game. WTD and Elk I have had great success. Trying to learn as much as I can about what works and what won't.
Have seen a lot of Moose activity the last week where I am hunting. I know it's real late for this, but is it to late to set up a ladder stand? Won't have any time for them to get used to things. May have to keep it to the ground me thinks...........

As Kurt said, the second rut is right around this time, between now and nov 17. You might not get an audible response but they do come in. Usually younger bulls, but you never know.

Some, perhaps even most mature bulls will be on their wintering spot by now, as they are tired from the rut. This is often a very small chunk of land, only a few acres in size, where they have food water and shelter within a few hundred yards. Big thick nasty willow swamps with a flowing beaver dam and dense conifers nearby.

Moose don't concern themselves with treestands as long as you don't spook them while sitting in it, set up whenever you want, but you'd have to be on one heck of a good trail for that to pay off.
