Well, you have a good idea of the zone then. I have seen a couple big moose up the collie creek drainage, and also in behind the Moberly tower is supposed to be perty good, from what I hear.
Also, up around the Berland can produce too.
Good Luck.

If they are handing out mulie buck tags on a 0 for 118 - it must be the next zone to get decimated in order to try and get a handle on CWD along the SK border.

118 is still a fair distance from the "hot zone" 151, but it would not surprise me that all of the border zones have a bump in allocations. I am not too concerned it usually only took a 1 to get a tag for buck md and doe WT. I don't think I have missed a year for mule does for 5 years, I am hoping for a two tag year like the first year I hunted there.

I got my Muley Buck for WMU 203, so I'm excited about that I'll be trying to fill that as well as some doe tages with my bow.

Wouldn't surprise me if there is an increase of tags all along the SK border zones. I recently read an article where they are interested in the zones that are both effected and not effected as they can try and determine why some areas are being hit by CWD and some aren't.
Regardless good luck to you!

Ya I'm not suprised you got drawn in 118 on a 0 either....last year there was a small number of 0's drawn, and I think this year they're increasing tags. They're still really good numbers in there, but I think they'll be watching it as its close to the SK border too. Fun zone to hunt....I'll keep my eyes out for ya bowhunting....

Yea there is no shortage of deer out there, but there seems to be a lot more hunters though and mostly road warriors too, it's getting a little frustrating, but then there is bow season. Though moose might have me busy during bow season, but I will wait to see what the trail closurse are like, before I commit. I would not mind filling my doe tags with archery, I might even settle for the first WT buck as well and then take my two weekends in November to focus on a big MD buck.

Congrats All Right. I was in there last year, 2nd rifle season, for only 1 1/2 days and saw 4 beautiful big bulls. You should have no trouble getting a tremendious bull. How many years did it take you to get your draw?

I got Bull Moose (calling season), and my wife got Cow Elk. 9'd everything else except sheep (438)- which I didn't get- and goat, which like others I am hoping. Probably will buy undersubscribed mulie doe!?

Nothing yet but unless there's a glich I should get a trophy lope tag, on a sad note no bull moose tag will squash my trip to northern AB this fall. (I was about 50 50 to get a tag) I might have to look into some general elk zones to fill the void. Or maybe if I fall into a barrel of $ I'll splurge and get set up with a bow before fall!

I had a feeling that 118 was gonna be opened up. I 999'd mule buck as I wanted to concentrate on whitetails up north. Everyone I have talked to has been drawn in 116 or 118 without priority. I avoided opening week last year but from what I heard it was a mess of road warriors. We got off the beaten track for the second and 4th weeks and it wasn't too bad. a few other hunters were seen but none bothered us too bad. The deer sure were sheepish by the last week. Where we seen a ton of deer the second week there were none around that could be seen from the road. I new of a little hole up on the ridge and we walked up there into a mess of deer. There were over 50 mulies in an area no larger than 2 acres. It was confusing trying to sort through the bucks to make an accurate judgement.

Now lets hope there are a few tags left to pick from once they open them up.
