Default Fall Bear in the South

I was un-successfull this spring persuing black bear in the Bob Creek area. I would like to try again this fall. I looked at the reg's and see the season opens up Sept 5 tru Nov 30. When do you guys think is the best time in the fall. Early Sept? Late Sept? Oct? Nov???? I would imagine if there is any kind of weater they would be seeking their dens by then? Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance guys.

We've killed a couple of bears in the Bob Creek area in the fall, they've all been while Elk hunting on private land. We see lots of them in late Sept., as many as 4 or 5 a day sometimes, and often times we see Grizz too. A couple of years ago, we were quartering an Elk up and had a HUGE Black show up for his piece of the pie. The bear was easily over 400 lbs, unfortunatley all of us had tagged out in the spring.
