Default Kelty Cache Hauler

Has anyone use one of these packs? They seem to get good reviews and the other thread about packs got me thinking but I didn't want to hijack the other thread, so I started this one.

If you're looking for something to haul meat for cheap, they work pretty well. It would be nice if the load lifters attached a little higher on the pack, but its pretty decent for the price. I always keep one in the vehicle in case i luck out.

I carry a couple of spare pins and split rings and a little wire for those "just in case" situations, but haven't ever had to use them.

That was the idea. I know where one is for sale so was thinking about buying it and was wondering if anyone has used one. By the looks of one reply out of almost a hundred views they aren't very well known around here. I have another Kelty bag, a 80L Coyote and really like it.

I got a bull moose this fall that had to be packed out of a river valley, and hadn't had a frame pack. I struggled with my internal frame pack (lesson learned), until a friend stopped by with a Kelty Cache Hauler to help. We took turns with the different quarters, and I have to say, the Kelty was absolutely fantastic! I had no trouble carrying the quarters with the Kelty, and as soon as I got home from the trip I bought one. It is a fantastic pack frame that didn't struggle at all with a good moose.
