Default Storing meat in the freezer

What are you guys using to store meat in the freezer before sausage making time? Are there certain types of bags that keep the meat better?

Use butcher paper lined pails, and cap with butcher wrap...tucked down all the edges.

Default Storing meat

No plastic bag is better than another. If I think I'll be storing for awhile (usually) I put in bags then wrap in butcher paper, seems to be the best. Pails are an interesting idea but containers take a lot of room in the freezer, so if storage is at a premium...

After quartering I put the quarters in garbage bags and straight into the freezer. Never had any issues, but they are only usually in them for a couple weeks until we butcher everything into steaks and roasts. Once butchered we wrap in freezer paper and Ziploc bags. This year we are trying out the vacuum sealer which so far works pretty well.

Be careful moving vac packed meat around, the seals can break easily and then they freezer burn fast.

Also be aware if you use garbage bags that some are scented or treated.
