you forgot to include the violations in the US. lacey act if i remember right, that resulted in jail time. the americans tend to punish the blatantly guilty a little harder than our excuse of as legal system.

Why not let people know all the names of these guides and the outfits they work for? Do everybody a favor and help get them out of the system, it's not slander if its the truth. Who is banned from hunting but still guiding and who do they guide for?

So the way I read it , an outfitter/ guide can be fined UP TO $2000 for breaching the APOS code of ethics .. That can be covered by a good weeks tips !!

APOS was given its status by government. If a person wants to change APOS instead of just complaining on a forum, send yor letter to the minister responsible for Environment and Sustainable Resources Development.

Even better, take the time to make a list of all the active APOS members that have infractions, and forward the formal document to ask the minister responsible for a formal explanation. The minister has no choice but to respond.

A petition with a few thousand names and it becomes way more public.

Myself, and several other people that I know have done this.

The minister did respond, and informed me that they leave it up to APOS to deal with their members as they choose. Quite obviously, that isn't working very well.

A petition with a thousand or more supporters signatures would maybe get a different response from the minister. That is only about 1/2 of the people that viewed this thread.

Petitions apparently are given far less consideration than a group of people writing separate letters to the minister, or representative. The reasoning that I was given is that a petition takes very little time and effort to sign, whereas individual letters show that the people take the issue serious enough to actually find the address, and compose a letter of their own.
