Default Yes I Nailed Him

Yes I Nailed Him was the first words from my boys mouth after the shot .. and so he did it was a double lung and the buck went 60 yards .. Sept long weekend my middle boy Nathan broke his femur in a fall and he was worried that he would not get anything this year .. but hey Dad is his guide and his meat is going into the freezer .. bought the tag yesterday morning and we never saw a deer till 6.41 pm and it was this big bodied WT buck.... a quick shot and it was recovery time(after 30 min wait should of begin a hr) .. did a little tracking in the dark and there he is .. wow lots of fat on this big guy .. its nice when your looking for meat and you get a big bodied buck

Grats Nat

Thanks for taking your old man out hunting

David

Where did you get your tag on a Saturday? We really wanted to buy some but all the fish and wildlife offices are only open mon-fri and the phone service as well.

Oh and congrats on the buck! Gotta love snatching one up near the end of the day after so much anticipation.

You can pick up tags at most sporting goods stores, Canadian Tire definitely sells tags

Did he hunt in the clothes he is wearing now? (That is the only way to hunt) I like the fact he went for the big body buck.....that how I do it most times as well. Nothing like a270 lbs deer & plenty of meat like I got in 2002.

Well done!

Yes imo its movement that they see or smell/noise.. if you stand still and don,t make eye contact they will look at you then graze .. I hunt with what I have on and most stalks or blind shots they don't even know I am there.. not much into the fashion world

If you have blanks, you can also buy them online 24/7 (Alberta RELM) and simply write in the license number generated by the computer. If memory serves, you may also have to print off a copy of the receipt.

Beauty meat buck BTW. I can see the fat in the background in the last photo.

Congrats on a nice buck. He definitely was packing on the fat for winter.

Along with all the other responses you got to your question, I thought I should mention...It has been over a decade since you could buy your tags at fish and wildlife offices.

And! Congrats to your son, David.

Thanks for pics Speckle.

A fat deer like that obviously had something on his mind before leaving the gene pool.
