In 1939 Ernest Wright wrote a 50,000 novel called Gadsby. What thing is not in the book that makes the book noteable?

He won it in 48......Newfoundland wasn't part of Canada quite yet.

First ever calder trophy winner was an american than a finn won it in the 30's or 40's as well so have to go back a long way. Dryden is Canadian. Googled it over the Meeker deal.

You are not mistaken. I googled him and it says he was born in Ont.

Strange tho.....I got that question off of Hockey Night In Canada from years ago. The reason it stuck out in my mind was it was such a cool answer.

Another reason for me to hate the CBC.....should have known that they would have screwed that up as well as everything else.

I actually thought it was Stan Mikita because although Canadian he was born in Czechoslovakia.
