Run it the way you want.... it’s not a necessity, your heart is in the right place, it just beats different than mine.

I won’t post my real postal code either. I read too much about snide FB messages being sent to folks who chose to donate and use their real name.

This isn’t a pecker measuring contest, it’s about doing what you feel is right, and putting ones thoughts into action.

Take quiet pleasure in your knowing you stepped up and donated.
I donated, and used my real name and postal code, but I don't really care what others think of me, plus I'm not on fb, this forum is the only online media I participate in! I'm interested in outdoor activities and hearing from others with similar interests, I really don't care what my neighbor bought at Wal-Mart or where they had dinner last week.

Lol. Just reread this. When I mean safe I mean my credit info safe not me phsicaly safe. Lol. Sorry if there was any confusion on this.

I know of 2 different people that have had their banking info hacked and I don't want to be the third.

Unfortunately online is no more risky than using your credit card or debit card at a store in person.
Mine, and several of my coworkers cards had fraudulent charges made on our corporate cards that weren't used for online purchases.
Our cyber security guy keep one tablet just to do his online banking.
No other Web site's are accessed on that tablet.
He uses his bank card to get cash from an ATM and makes all of his purchases in cash.
He has seen the huge problems involved when a hacker has compromised your accounts.

I made another donation after I read this

Petition wants GoFundMe to drop fundraiser for Gerald Stanley's family

https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/petiti...mily-1.3808884

So mob rules and the court ruling should be ignored, I don't think so

That's good. Every time they cry the Stanley fund grows.

International petition to take down the GoFundMe page.
13,645 people who don’t believe in the rule of law.
I hope they don’t get there way.

https://actions.sumofus.org/a/gofund...-donations-now

Should take down the petition for spreading falsehoods.

That this group of drunken thieves will be making a pile of money from thei incident turns my stomach. Below is a slightly modified entry that I had posted on CGN about this.

In certain US States there is a charge called 'felony murder' in which co-conspirators to crimes that result in a death can be charged in relation to the death(s) regardless of if it was a victim, co-conspirator or law enforcement officer who died during the commission of their crime, even if they were not the killer. If this case happened in any of those US States the others who were with Boushie could have been charged in relation to his death. It all stemmed from their cumulative actions after all.

What state is GuFundMe based in? Do they have to follow the laws of that State? Would it be possible to get this payday for the drunk driving armed thieves nullified on that premise?

https://www.themarshallproject.org/2...-killed-anyone

Hmm, GoFundMe is headquartered in San Diego and California does have felony murder on their books. This wiki link is noteworthy as it includes a list of the offences under which felony murder would apply, notably carjacking, robbery, burglary, mayhem, etc. This approach might actually have legs to it??

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felo...le_(California)

I just ran across that also. Shameful!!

What an unbelievable and one sided account. Even called the shooting a murder.

What blows my mind is the petition itself, atleast how I read it, is predicated on the fact that "go fund me" itself is the one profiting off of Colten Boushie's death and that is morally wrong. If that was the case would the sane not hold true for the the other campaigns by Boushie's family. The hypocrisy gives is thick

Exactly!

Honestly, even when you buy using your card in a store, the actual transaction is done over the internet just as if you bought it from home. The terminal that your card is swiped through is simply a computer terminal and the info is sent over the worldwide net. It is just as hackable as your computer. I've had two cards hacked at stores but have yet to be hacked "online".

You have protections using your card online. I would not sweat it. If the place is reputable you are as safe as one can be.

Too funny, I wonder if they want the gofundme money raised for the boushie family returned as well, based on the same principles?
