I see what you did there with the clever use of grammar.

Fired two shots out off 300 win mag got a 4 inch group with 7mm ammo, lucky that it was not the other way around ,when hunting with another with different calibers number one rule ,don't mix your ammo up. I fired those to 7mm shells over 25 yers ago and i will never forget it.

While it may not be of help to others -

My bench gun is a 243 Winchester. My wife's is a 260 Rem.

I shoot ballistic tips out of each gun - not just because I like them, but because the tips are color coded. Orange tips into the 260, purple into the 243.

If you shoot different rifles with the same case or very close it might help to use a paint pen or other marking on the case to add another layer of safety to your day at the range.

I am glad you were okay. Scary situation!

I wasn't there for this one, but a friend of mine went to shoot his brothers 7mm mag and grabbed a box of ammunition marked "7mm Mag" took a cartridge out without checking the head stamp and immediately blew the gun apart. After investigation it was revealed that there was 303 Brit ammo in the 7mm box. Sunglasses saved his eyes as he had multiple wounds on his face, his hands still have nerve damage. I say check the headstamp every single time.

There was a time they sold 280 ammo as 7mm Remington Express. Well, dad asked for 7mm rem mag ammo and was handed the express. Sat in the cabinet for over a decade.
Older brother fired one off at a yotie and the stock shattered in his face. Not hurt, but scared us all enough to be extra cautious since
