Default Pine Lake for year round fishing?

My parents are looking to purchase a cabin on Pine Lake. We will most likely fish the area year round, however, I just read a bunch of mixed reports from the last 3 years. How's the summer/winter fishing situation on the lake these days?

Lots of dink pike, some walleye but hard to find. It gets gross with algae bloom in summer. Like most won't swim in it gross.

Had some luck there in the spring but all 1-2lb pike. I haven't caught walleye there for a few years now. Used to hold some good numbers of fish. I don't go there in the summer anymore as I don't want the kids in the water with all the algae/water quality issues

I sat in on a seminar that The Dimestore Fisherman put on in Red Deer yesterday and he swears there's still some really big pike in Pine but you have to work for 'em. Says chucking Suick's in spring/early summer can be good...

I have a trailer there year round and do fish it regularly. You will catch lots of pike but all small, maybe one in 50 is legal to keep if that's what your into, the water is bad on a warm summer like others have said.

Lots of tiny pike. We went out on the boat once this year and caught over 90 pike, maybe 2 were keeper size.
