Default 22 Hornet Scope Recommendation

I know there's a couple new Hornets found a new home looking for glass. I'm thinking Leupold 2-7 x 33 perhaps.

Thoughts please. Thanks!

Those would be fine. I have an older 2.75x Weatherby Imperial (1960's vintage) on my Walther, and 2.5x10 Sightron on my CZ don't feel under or over scoped with either rifle.

Trades I would interested in:
- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

I have found that as I grow older, I prefer more magnification. I like 12-15X for shooting the heads off of ground squirrels at 200 yards, and I like no more than 4x for calling coyotes at close range, so I have 3-15X scopes on my 17/20/22 caliber centerfires.

I just put a NF SHV 3-10 illuminated on a 223. It has the MOA reticle. Works very well on coyotes.

A 4-12x with parallax adjustment is a great fit.

I have a Zeiss conquest 4.5-14x44 on my 22-250. Beautiful glass. The options are pretty much endless on what you could put on for a scope. The deciding factor will be how much you want to spend.

Leupold 2.5-8x36 gets my vote and sits atop my Hornet. Had a 4-12x40AO on another Hornet I used to own. That was a nice combo as well.

The Leopold 2-7 is some nice glass, I had similar on my 22lr’s years ago. For my 22 hornet I sourced out a Burris timberline 3-9x32mm as I wanted the longer eye relief to fit better on my h&r

Run a VX-2 6 x 18 x 40 AO Leopold on 22-250 for years. Great scope.

Why 2-7x33 ? What is the intended use/purpose for the rifle ?

Congrats on the new fun-sticks ! But I'd want at least 3.5-10x (or 3-9x), with a 40 or 44mm objective.

And with Leupold, you can change the reticle (and possibly the elevation dial to CDS) thru Korth...

Rifle be an every day carry. Cattle dispatch, few obnoxious birds, coyotes, pests. I have a 223 & a 22-250 for the real coyote adventures, this is just work around the farm. Hence why I thought the lower magnification for the close stuff. Will also scope a 22 mag some day, so thought I'd stay in the same lane perhaps. Haven't made a decision yet, Thanks for the input so far. Merry Christmas everyone!

Sourced a good used VX 111 2.5-8 x 36 for the first try. Nice, light little rifle so thought I'd try this. If this not to my liking, I'll be back asking! Thanks for the help!

There you go, great choice I doubt you will ever find the need for more than 8X with a 22 hornet, they are fun guns but it's just not a long range round.
