Default Saskatoons are ready.

Went and checked my favorite saskatoon berry spot tonight, and they are good to go. Picked a nice big batch. Mmmmm....saskatoon pie!

Got into ours yesterday. I ate 2 quarts, grandkid ate a lot and daughter picked a gallon for making a crisp. It's a great time of the year as the Raspberry's in the garden are starting too and with the rain they is Uuuge.

The best summer drink ever is saskatoons put through the juicer. Chill and enjoy. So smooth and flavorful.

I far preferred chokecherries myself. My grandmas chokecherry jelly or her chokecherry syrup on vanilla ice cream. Dang.

Plus gorging on a few handfuls then crapping your drawers an hour later. Doesn't get better than that.

The birds in my yard must have read this before I did. Little buggers wait until the Saskatoons are ripe to steal them off the bush.

I was out yesterday, they’re so spotty this year in Calgary. It started out looking good with nice bunches but I think not enough sun...

Lots in the lakeland this year and the wild strawberries were the largest and most plentiful I have ever seen, but are coming to a close soon.

Agree with calgarychef , very spotty in Calgary, picking is thin in my old patch.

In the Calgary area, stopped at a bush on my run yesterday, there was a few ready, but most look to still be a week or so away. Little bit later this year.

Nothing beats a day of picking saskatoons, then saving a few for a reduction sauce over ice cream for desert!!
