Default Handgun transfer

Have a buddy in another province who's dad passed away and left him a couple of handguns. He doesn't have the proper permits to use them and has offered them to me. Wondering if it is worth the red tape hassel before I check all the regs and permit requirements. Will be in the province in Aug, how would you bring them back, carry on baggage LOL.

If he is the executor the transfer is done very easily over the phone. As far as the flying with them, I'll have to bow down to one of the members with more experience with that than myself.

Go to the bottom of the page and it gives the rules for transporting firearms on a plane. Extra $50 per flight per package. Really not as bad as I thought it would be.

If they are registered, and you have the appropriate PAL, it really isn't a big deal. I would mail them to yourself rather than fly with them.

Default Transferring Handguns

Don,t forget to get an authorization to transport, and make sure you have a restricted licence. Check to make sure the handguns are not prohibited such as 25 or 32 caliber.
Good Luck.

Good eye instructer, never thought of checking for prohibited weopon. The guy thinks they were 44 and 22 but wasn't sure. They are older so I'll check. As far as license I'm OK there, thanks for the input.
