Default Removing grease/oil

Picked up a 94 few months back that has a fair bit of grease/oil still on it. Been slowly working away at it with a cotton cloth and q-tips, but there has got to be a better way to remove this stuff? The gunk in tight spots I can't get at like this either, so gonna have to do something else. Scared to use anything to rough on it or a chemical degrease for fear of damaging the blueing, any ideas or answers? Thanks

take it for a swim in some lacquer thinner or varsol and air blow dry it. lube it right away with a thin silcone spray or light oil...
I dont think it should harm the blueing. course ive never had to get that aggressive, maybe try a test area first.

Remove all the wood furnature, and let it bathe in a varsol tank. Then use a parts brush and scrub it down, followed by copious amounts of Brake Cleaners, or other aerasol parts cleaner. let dry, and then preserve it with a gun specific rust preventative. The only thing I would avoid lubricating with anything oily is the firing pin and spring areas, they simply get a dry teflon type of lubricant.

Spray on brake and electrical cleaner works great, you can get it at any automotive supply store.
