Default How big of a deal would it be?

I am going to be going to see my brother in Kamloops in the next couple of days and I would like to sight my new Sako A7 300WSM in at the 800 yard rang he is a member at. I am just wondering for a hunter that does not shoot to far past 300 yards will sighting it in Kamloops afect my shot placement here in Alberta? Just thinking about elivation difference and what not. Will it be drasticly different or no difference at all?

Thanks!

Misread question

Shouldn't be much different at ranges 300 and less.

Given that we don't know where you are in Alberta, to have any idea of the elevation, it might not make any difference at all.

You could be in edmonton at 2200 AGL, Calgary at 3200 AGL or Kamloops AT 6000 AGl and the conditions could be exactly the same. Density altitude is what we be a real comparison between the 3.

AGL? Above ground level?
If you mean ASL, above sea level, kamloops is around 1100 ft, not 6000

for shooting 500 yards and under not really difference but longer ranges you could see a huge difference

thanks,
My mistake, and i have a license and have had an airplane for years in the past. And i was trying to say the elevation is only 1 piece of the equation.

You were going to sight in again before going hunting anyway right?
