Default Do trappers need big game carcasses and whatnot?

Last year, in one of the threads a trapper (nube, I believe it was) was saying how hard it is to come up with bait and post-processing leftovers would be appreciated. Albeit being late (maybe very late), I figured it would not be a bad idea to create a thread where trappers can connect with hunters and make use of bone and trim that otherwise would be dumped in the bush or on a side of some hiking trail, lol.

I haven't chopped up any game yet this season, but I will in all likelihood have a couple of deer carcasses and, hopefully, a calf moose before it is over in a couple of weeks. I will also have some bunny skin if there is any interest for it. I am in Peace River.

So there it is. Post up if you have something to get rid of and where you are, as well as if you need something and where you need it.

What a great idea! Bait is always an issue for me and I知 always on the scrounge for whatever I can get. If someone has to make a special trip to dump stuff on the side of the road I値l save you a trip and dispose of it legally.

Excellent idea, suggest hunters post on trapping forum that they have box scrapes/location etc then the two can coordinate address for pick-up with PM.

When hunting season is over what about using roadkill that is picked up by the contractors that do the highway maintenance and remove roadkill. In the southwest its Volker Stevin.

Good idea, some do, can be a pain with salvage permits and such

Sorry moose maniac, someone already called it.

Hope you guys looking for scraps are getting some PMs. A little surprised by the lack of response from the hunters, to be honest. I will try to remember to bump this thread or create a similar one early next season.

One thing to consider if you harvested a deer from a known CWD zone sending the carcass to a trapper in another completely different zone is discouraged. When I hunt at Wainwright or other Eastern zones I don't use the deer carcass for bait here in Rocky, it goes to the landfill just to be on the safe side.

Yes trappers already get road kill, but F & W do not like moving carcus around province, they like them to stay within same WMU. Concern with CWD.
