Default Sheep river

Been neglecting my son and his family a bit due to our home issues and need to make some time for him and me.
So, out fishing is the best bonding time we share together!
He wants to try some new areas exploring with his dad and wants to catch his first Bully. I've never caught one either! Can someone let me know how the trail/river access is above the falls and above Bluerock/Junction Creek parking area? I hear it has changed since the floods. I'm hoping this would be a good time to try there as water levels are much lower.
Never been up there and don't wish to risk scaling rocks or swimming with a heavy pack if the going gets tough. Bears are always a concern and we will have the necessary dinner bells on and spray with us.
I assume big, white, heavy streamers would be on the menu.
Not looking for anyones honey holes, just some direction or advice as above if some of you could be so kind please?
PM if you wish.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you.
FYI
Closed from Gorge Creek upstream to Indian Oils. Open above. From what I read in the regs.
But appreciate your reply.
Fished below Gorge Creek and got skunked but it was a beautiful hike and a good learning experience crossing back and forth through the creek and the canyon with my Son. Not so much fun returning upstream on the way back to the truck for an old guy with bad knees though!

I don’t think the bulls make it above the falls. I may be wrong about that though. I would try elsewhere.

Try going up Coal Creek. It feeds into the Sheep River (across the Sheep River) at the day use area at the Sandy McNabb campground. A 45 minute, fairly easy hike, with a few creek crossings through a cattle grazing leased area. Eventually you come to a lovely gorge and waterfall with a delightful plunge pool which is habitat for bull trout, cutthroat, 'cutbows' and whitefish. It is beautiful.
