Default Ice fishing tent

Was wondering on everyones experiences with 2 different tents.

1. Ice cube
2. Sub zero

I'm looking into buying one or the other just wanting a little feedback from those of you who have used one or the other.

Thank you

I love mine.
It folds up nice and compact. You can easly have 3 holes in it and have room to move. Being black it heats up nicely and holds the heat in. Go with the four man.
Come try it and see what you think.

Is the Sub Zero and Ice cube not made by the same manufacture? I had to get a replacement pole for my Sub Zero. When it got shipped to me it came from Eastman. Eastman is the company who makes the Ice Cube right???

I can't find if they're the same company or not, but the tents are pretty much the same. Fishin hole told me they're still waiting on approval to bring the ice cube in. Something to do with the fabric not being flame retardant, thats why they were pulled off the shelves last year.

Wholesale Sports has a whole pile of 4 man ice cubes for $229. $20 cheaper than The Fishin' Hole.

Default Cabelas Deluxe Ice Fishing Tent

Hi all I purchased one of these tents from Cabelas last year. This is a great do-it-yourself tent at an economical price. Its oversized designs provide lots of room for two people. The tent features two velcro closure windows, two large zippered doors,a sturdy internal metal frame and water repellent,150-denier woven polyester fabric. You add your own floor and floor plan.My floor plan consists of 4 holes one in each corner of the tent.I made doors on hinges which cover the holes when not in use.I used 1/2" plywood pressure treated. The size is 72h"x60w"x72l".Check out the Cabelas site for more info.

Ice Cube and the Tundra Ice Shanty are both made by Eastman, which in turn is just like Sub Zero. Pretty much all the same. But I did phone Wholesale and the Ice Cube is there right now on sale for $229, as Ace stated.

A word of caution. Don`t buy your tent from Canadian Tire. It is the old model and has problems with the sides popping in an the fabric is a thinner gauge. FYI

Dodger.

I had the same questions as you guys, so instead of trusting Internet forums, I decided to e-mail my questions directly to Eastman.
Here is what Eastman's engineer Ryan Van Pelt had to say when I asked him the differences between the Ice Cube and Sub-Zero.

"The main difference between the Ice Cube and the Sub-Zero is that the Sub-Zero is a special make up shanty for Maurice in Canada. The window design may be different depending on the year it was made. The Material is the same on both (300D polyester). Pricing could differ from retailer to retailer, but you get the same quality with either model."

So just a word of advice: if you’re looking for facts, the best way to answer your question/s is to ask the experts.

Your welcome.

JGab
