35 years in a row with a moose. Damn. Must have had a lot of priority points.

Good on ya JD, great to hear of your success and outlook.

Just wishing, more from all walks of life would follow your lead.

Thumbs down

The Bottom Line:

"Out of respect for other First Nations, Chief Matthew says the Simpcw won’t be back to Jasper for some time, as “it’s other people’s turn next.”

So if heritage matters so much to these guys, what is the chief's real name? Nathan Matthew? What, is he some British white guy?

By saying general archery I mean archery that doesn’t require a draw. But you knew that.

I think its a traditional Remington rifle. Their traditional paint horse must have been tied to a tree out of view.

Traditional F350 with telescopic rests, I mean mirrors.

What a joke...... camo? Could have just put on a clown suit to sneak up on those wild animals. I know 2yrs ago I almost had to slap a cowelk up side the head to stop it from eating my cherries.

I bet this will be an annual "tradition" now with more animals taken each year.

Not just any camo.
Sadly, most of us couldn't easily afford the stuff that guy is sporting.
The only reason that is relevant is because I had a native tell me the reason they had privileges was because they couldn't afford the supermarket like I could.

IronNoggin: I'm wondering how credible your picture source is. I will be phoning the FN liaison with JNP this week to discuss trophy vs. traditional harvest if those pictures are truthfully some of the JNP harvested animals.
A 12 year old ram's neck meat wouldn't be my first sheep age/sex choice in filling the community freezer.

Traditional attire and weapons? Check
Subsistence hunt? Check
What are you you complainers talking about?

I really shouldn't be surprised that this is happening if I consider who is leading the charge.

subsistence:
:means of subsisting: such as
a :the minimum (as of food and shelter) necessary to support life
b :a source or means of obtaining the necessities of life

It's unregulated hunting.

I also , first and foremost would question whether those pic's are valid.

Please don't tell me you are surprised about what they're wearing/shooting and what they harvested though.

If true, that's the biggest whitetail I've ever seen in JNP in 20 years.

I hope the elders still have their own teeth.

Not sure what you mean...
1. everyone is complaining about unregulated hunting?
(if so then my sarcasm was not obvious and I do apologize as that is a risk with typing and not being clear about it)
2. you're staying it's not subsistence but just unregulated hunting?
3. other?
