Great job Three...
I like the spread size. I shoot Sask in the fall and we have big foots, 3 rotary units, a dozen kites weather permitting, sound equipment and 1500 silo socks out. we shoot the blazes out of them but I am envious your only using maybe 1/3 the silos.
The light snow.. in any kind of snow we have shot our biggest numbers. I personally like a heavier snow when they come out of nowhere up close and personal in a just a heartbeat.
Congrats to you and your shooters.

Few pics from the last couple of days

There wasn't a bird on this roost 1 hr before this;

Thursday nite;

The field on Friday, birds start from the left to behind the centre hump and north out of sight. East field entrance is just to my right, and another pond over flowing into this one.

Nice pics 32-40. I especially liked the one of the mallards, pintails and shovelers (aka smiling mallards) with the Canadas in the background.

Looks like fun. I've never done the snow goose thing. Looking at the pile of birds on the tailgate, what do you do with 3 million dead geese? That's a lot of butchering!

Looking good!

Im picking up a few rifles in Red Deer this week, never did snow geese before. I hunt a few of the DU places around there in the fall for ducks. Do the birds fly by Red Deer or are they more East? Just wondering if it is worth getting my permit and bring my shotgun. I wouldn't be setting up any decoys or anything as I do not have them. Would just be in the DU fields and ponds.
Thx!

Seen thousands off and on in flocs bucking this crazy wind rest of way to Taber
Flying real low
Can see flocs flying over Horsefly from my house
Good luck fellas

I saw the first flocks in our area last Sunday, two flocks of a few hundred each flew over, but I haven't seen any since.

That’s a fantastic price. The last case I bought the hulls did not open like picking empties there was just a small hole where all the shot could escape. I hope it was just a bad bad batch. Also had some that were bulged and did not cycle even through a pump. Also had hunting buddies experience the same thing. I had used the brand in the past and they were great. All the poor ones I have seen were bought at the UFA in Camrose. So could have just been a bad batch as they probably don’t go through that many.

I don't worry what the hulls look like , as long as they pattern well, but the non cycling is a concern. I topped up my supply of Kent's, as they haven't given me any issues over the past five years.

Work had me going south of Kitscoty today, seen one pond just full of snows on the way to highway 619. That's all I seen as I went southeast of there into the sask side.

Thought I would throw the sighting on here.

Just arriving around here, Wednesday afternoon when we were out shooting gophers the sky was full of them as was every puddle in every field, still ice on the bigger sloughs here but the snows have arrived in full force.
