Default Help finding info in the regs

I'm looking for someone to point me to where in the regs it states that you can use a draw tag in a non-draw (open) season.

I've looked and looked but I can't find it. I'm sure I've seen it in the past but for the life of me I cant find it now. I've never given it any thought before so maybe I'm just confused. They say the mind is the first to go so...

I have a late season antlered moose tag in 530 and I was thinking if its an option I would go out in the open antlered moose bow season at the end of August. I won't do it unless I see it clearly written that its an option and so far none of the calls to the local game branch have been answered or returned.

You won't find it. Draw tags are WMU specific and in your case the tag is also specif to a set range of dates. Your late season moose tag is ONLY valid during those dates in that specific WMU. Since you also can't buy two Antlered Moose tags you cannot buy a general archery one either.

Hmmmm
I know they amended the regs so that if you got, say, a mule deer Draw you could hunt the same wmu during archery season not just the rifle season
But since there is a calling season inbetween I’m not sure
I would think it would be ok for the archery season which is only a week

Did some more reading. Appears I was wrong. This is from the regs.

BOWHUNTING

Note: The following applies to bowhunting other than with a cross-bow. Scroll down for information about hunting with cross-bows.
Except for the hunting of black bear, coyote, cougar or wolf under the circumstances as outlined under Access for Control of Livestock Predation, a Bowhunting Permit is required by anyone who hunts big game, game bird, wolf or coyote with a bow and arrow. Bowhunters with appropriate general or special licences may hunt during the general seasons, archery-only seasons and primitive weapon seasons. A Bowhunting Permit is required in combination with a big game licence. In some areas of the province, hunters require special licences to hunt certain species of big game – see season tables. A bowhunter who obtains an Antlered Moose Special Licence, Antlerless Moose Special Licence, Calf Moose Special Licence, Antlered Mule Deer Special Licence, Antlerless Mule Deer Special Licence, Antlered White-tailed Deer Special Licence, Antlerless White-tailed Deer Special Licence, Antlered Elk Special Licence, Antlerless Elk Special Licence or Landowner Special Licence may, if an early archery season is offered, hunt under the authority of that licence during the archery season but only in the WMU specified on the licence and only for the type and species of animal for which the licence was issued. Holders of a Landowner Special Licence are subject to the terms/conditions of their licence. Bowhunters are reminded that, in some situations, archery-only seasons for some species may be in progress at the same time as primitive weapon and rifle seasons for other species in the same WMU.

Perfect! Thanks for the links.

I knew I had read it but for the life of me I couldn’t find it again. Not sure how I missed it now that it’s right there in front of me.

So late season antlered moose in 530 allows me to get out with a sharp stick in 530 for a few days at the end of the month because there is a bow season.

Nice. I’ll post some pics if an opportunity to fill the tag presents itself.
