Default Getting of crows!

How do I do it? I live on a acreage, in a subdivision, so forget about a 12 gauge,or any other firearm! There are about 6 of them, and they are crapping all over my roof! Gross Any suggestions! Would love to try some of them "dragon's breath" shot gun rounds, but....! Help!!

ASK TREEGUY!!!

The guy knows how to handle magpies - I'm sure crows would be no problem!

bearbangers...serious..

I live in a row of condos, crows were always tearing apart trash and spreading it, eating the dogs food.....I shot a bearbanger twice..they have never been back and actually fly right around our place to avoid it.

Stick a post up in your yard, with a gopher trap nailed to the top of it. You don't even have to bait it. They'll come to check it out. When their caught in the trap, take a stick and hit it over the head.

Pellet gun is fairly quiet but I don't know if it's legal where you are.

Smile Magpie trap

You can get plans from the internet. It is a cone shaped structure that the birds sort of hop into but then can't get out. Do NOT kill the crows in the trap. Catch them and dispose of them elsewhere. If you lill them in the trap no birds will use it again.

In the country you can often borrow one.

I'll resist the temptation to jest.......for now!

Sinawalli, if you can find a way to kill just one (even if it's from somewhere you CAN shoot), hang the body in a visable area near where your problems are happening. It'll keep them away for the most part.

However, I'm guessing there are some large spruce trees near your house. They're nesting now, so another solution would be to kill the nest. Generally, they are found close to the top, so be careful. It can get exciting up there...trust me!

Both the suggestions of using a rat trap and building the cone type one from internet plans work really really well. Just make the opening a touch say 1/2" larger than on the magpie trap and it works like a charm. The only draw back to the rat trap is that you get the odd non target species and they often are dead when you find them.

Since they are my roof, and there are neighors behind me, shooting anything is out of the question! Don't want to switch my trade to liscence plate maker!! Like the trap on a stick!! Will give it a try! Since it'll be on the roof, I'll leave the corpse there as a reminder to others!! (Insert diabolical laugh here). Thanks!!

Loud, isn't the problem, it's the projectile, shot at a 30-45 degree angle, from about 75 yards away, at a crow, and if I miss ( and I can't hit *hit), then it hits someones house in the back 40, SWAT team arrives, and very bad juju follows!! BTW, I am a machinist by trade, and loud isn't a problem!!

I hate the crows and magpies , destroyed 3 robins nest with eggs in the past month . Hey a little bit of bait (meat scraps) a crank open window without screen and a Diana Model 34 1000 Fps 177 with a nice 3-9 Illuminated mil dot does the trick. Its about 40 feet , some fly away but found a few deceased in the neighbours yard. I go pick him up and they dont mind , they dont like them either...

If you are just worried about projectiles moreso not noise assuming you can use the subsonic 22 bullets put some sort of bait on the ground and shoot from a window upstairs so that you bullet goes into the ground. outa sight outa mind and it would even be quiet!

Plan "c' is not very good. Kill them and your good, cause unnecessary suffering and you could be charged.

I personally like crows, magpies, ravens, eagles and hawks. I could care less about robins, canaries, bluebirds or other pretty-type song birds....but I guess everybody is free to pick and choose......
