Had one in a Remington Sendero. It's the one gun I sold that I wish I could have back.

One the other hand, it wouldn't do anything my 22-250 can't do, and ammo is cheaper and easier to find for the '250. If I was to buy another, especially for fox and rabbit, I would probably go down one more small step and get a 223.

yip that's what I have. Not a Sendero in 220. A Varmint Synthetic. Sendero's are only the larger cals.

Last year my 13 yr old shot 9 targets in a row at 100 yards. 3-shot groups....largest group was 3/8" smallest was 1/4". Do I like this rifle? Yes. Mine is from the first year of production with a 24" bbl. They always seem to shoot a tad better than the later ones with 26" bbl's. 55 gr at 3650 fps. Handloads of course but this rifle even shoots remington factory reeeeeel nice groups.

I really like the 220, but for those targets I'd go with a 223.

As far as 220 vs 22.250, they look the same on paper and I wouldn't try to talk anyone out of one or the other,BUT in the field IMHO the 220 is more fur friendly. It shouldn't be from the ballistics, but I've seen tons of coyotes shot with both and the 220 was more fur friendly. It could be as simple as bullet selection.

For animals the size of fox or rabbits, the damage will be the same and devastating.
I use a 223 on rabbits for head shots, cause I eat 'em. Fox can take a shot to the ribcage usually without too much damage.

Default 220 swift

thanks guys,in the uk the landowners have to control the what we call vermin, buy law ,but as i get payed by the farmers to control the the foxes ,rabbits and crows etc, shot 16 red foxes in one field alone last year for one farmer, been using my 243win for this, so 220 swift will take over the roll, as far as pelt damage we dont sell pelts any more in the uk ,what bullet size would you guys use 50 or 55 grn atb steve

Whichever works best in your rifle. Mine likes 55's. The one I had before like 50's. Matter of trying both.

I was at a cross roads between the .220 and the .204, I ended up going with the .204 just because some guy told me that brass for the .220 could be hard to find, I don't know it's true or not but one day I am goint to own a .220 just because I still think it a fantastic caliber. The .204 sure is a great caliber as well. I have made some pretty amazing shots with my .204.
