Not sure what to tie next
Ever get to a point where you know you need to tie flies but you have enough. Many will say you can never have enough, but for me right now I can get through the season. I'm stocked up on the common dries and nymphs, well as some others. Whats next though. I don't fish streamers, maybe them. Any ideas would be great. Most of my fishing is stillwater but have plans to head SW this fall.

You could try some traditional wet flies for stillwaters, i had some fun in Elbow lake the other day with Bibios, Invictas, Zulus, Butchers and Kate mclaren. They're fun to tie, really work well and you can't really get in the shops here.

I ran into the same problem earlier this year. What I did was I googled hatch charts for some of the waters I fish ( Oldman, Pincher, Crowsnest, Waterton etc.) and found some of the common hatches. Then for every one of these hatches I have been tying a nymph, emerger, dun and spent for all of them. Right now I just tie a couple of everything in one size, but once I am through all of the hatches, I'll start tying different sizes and variants of the originals. I am sure you could just search common Stillwater hatches and do the same thing. Fun way to pass time plus I am learning what kind of insects are common on the waters I fish. I would also tie some streamers up too.

sweet idea, I started fishing soft hackle wets and love it!
also bang out some chironomids in every size and colour, they do serious damage on stocked trout lakes

Soft hackles and bomber chronomids are what I tie when I hit the wall on ideas. Never seem to have enough of either.

Having "everything" , in conventional tackle is why I decided to get into fly fishing and tying in the first place. (This month)
