Default Hello from Northeastern BC Canada

I've been lurking here for quite some time, so I thought I would say hi
Hunting, Fishing, AATV's, anything outdoors is what I like, and I usually drag the family out with me (usually don't have to drag too hard, sometimes they drag me out)

Anyway, cool site, hope I can contribute in some small way.

RD

Off the grid, now that's livin'.
I have a couple cabins on a remote trophy fishing lake. No phones, no computers, no TV. We spend most of our summers there.

What am I chasin'? Mostly stuff like this:

You know, I've been kicking myself in the butt for NOT videoing that little performance. I was tired and bloody, it was getting late, and I was alone. What I did was drag the bison to a stand of larger trees, strung a rope between two of them. Hung a snatch block from the rope, and ran my winchline up and back over the Argo, to the snatchblock, then down to the Bison. I winched the bison up, and then backed the Argo under it. As I backed up, the Bison lowered into the back.

You must be an engineer. I tryed that once with an elk and it wasnt that easy. The rope was to long the rope was to short the driver wasnt paying attention and I missed the trailer . In the end I remembered that the trailer could come off and that made things a lot easier . Good job with the argo and rigging!

I have one, yes. I work shiftwork out in the bush 8 days on and 6 off. I'm not much into watching TV, so I have lots of spare time after work, sometimes. It gives me a chance to sort through all our video footage and put YT clips togeather.

Here is the condenced version of the Archery Bison Hunt:

Hey K! Nice to see ya over here.....WTH is going on in your 4th photo above?
Did you lock one of your hungry workmates out of the lunch room? Or is that a p.o.'d black bear?

Rock Doc:

You have some great vids on you tube!!

That one with the wolves is pretty scary to say the least. 20ft from those kids is WAY TOO CLOSE. That's a great dog ya got there

We've got a guy up here that hunts wolves for a living. He shoots pretty much all of them as we're legal on snowmobile up here and he takes between 100-180/yr. He's had some strange happenings as well. He was telling me that he broke out onto a lake and there were 3 in the middle. Instead of running away they all started coming at him. He uses an autoloader and the last one he shot skidded to within 6 feet of him. Even the shooting didn't make them break away.......there have been a few cases of really aggressive healthy wolves in the past few years.

That's who comes knocking at the door 15 minutes after you burn a bag of microwave popcorn.
It was kinda creapy, as one of the guys at work wanted to open the door to let the smoke out of the camp. Good thing we didn't let him

Tks TM
I've heard of a number of encounters in the last few yrs. I've also noticed an increase in the # of wolves I see in the bush. It's just mindboggling how some people don't see a conection between the two.
Make no mistake, I am not thinking that it's deadly dangerouse to walk in the bush, but "STUFF" can happen out there.
I'm still more frightened to take my kids for a walk through cities at night than the bush at night though. LOL

Question for you "Multi-Forum Guys"

Do you make some of the same posts on different forums, to start conversations with different groups, or do you kind of try to keep everything seperate?
Just curious

Man, I had to think hard on that one for a few minutes, I haven't posted there for a long time. I did post a couple hunting vids there a couple yrs ago. The "Chicken Hunting" one raised a bit of a fuss if I remember correctly
