Default 39th anniversary next weekend

looked at Jasper park lodge and rooms start at 700 plus tax fthat
thoughts as dining in is out with new restrictions
I can’t cook that well
viagra is old news, she would rather be left alone
she has most of the stuff she would ever need
and yes have thought about just leaving her for the day to ensure she has a great day
and neat ideas?
she does not drink even though she should
she has winter tires, just got a new car, life insurance is paid up
was thinking of Edson or Hinton and Jasper for the day but no
thought of having one of U studs visiting her but she should rather quilt
am out of ideas

Gift certificate to a quilt shop she hasn't been to?

A loom or a new Pfaff or scrapbook stuff?

A walk through the River Valley, a Drive in the Country to tour Jurassic park by Gibbons, the gardens by Devon, the Zoo in the River valley, the spanking new Provincial museum, the Muttart Conservatory, a 3d mega screen movie at the Telus center, the water park at West Edm mall, and a whole host of other attractions people that live here all their lives never go see unless they have visitors from out of town. Followed by a nice meal at Nello's in St Albert. Other choices depending on fare that interests her, The Riverside Cafe, Out of Bounds at Cattail golf course ( Restaurant is owned and run by the fellow that owned the Hardware Grill downtown), Barbacoa, Pampas Brazilian or one of my favourites La Ronde.

Also, if wshe is into quilting, I have an antique carding machine we don't use anymore that is in perfect working order. Make a real nice gift, will give you a heck of a deal.

I think you are talking about my wife with those recommendations! lol!

So you don't cook, but maybe having someone prepare an amazing meal you can bring in, sort out all the clean-up, find a nice movie she likes you can watch on the couch while you rub her feet... Nice and simple, but kind and caring. My wife would love that stuff!

Oh, maybe pay a maid to come in and do a top to bottom in the house too might give her a bit of a break, although some women definitely do not like other women cleaning their homes so think about that one long and hard for sure.

The two of you find a recipe on the net that you would like to try. Spend the afternoon together tag teaming it. A nice dinner, chocolate for desert and you do dishes. Early bed time and just talk and cuddle.

CB:
A novel idea; you are drawing a blank and your audience is trying.

Just ask her?

If she says "I don't want anything", then quietly prepare supper (maybe M&M's as they have decent meals, because you don't cook) and clean up for her and leave her alone for the day to do do as she pleases....

Take the time to pen her a nice heartfelt note in a card and a lottery ticket.

At 39 years; sometimes, nothing simply means nothing.

Good luck,

Just spent a night in the Tonquin. $249 all in. Meh. Had supper there, best steak they had was underwhelming for sure!

But......the next morning thinking Smitty's and head home, saw O'Shea's through their window. Looked better & it was. Man, the best breakfast in a long time there.

They're located in the Athabasca Inn. I haven't checked prices but when we go back that will be a lookup for sure.

Congrats on 39!!

Stay at Old Entrance near Hinton and do day trips to Jasper. Folding Mountain Brewery is close by and worth a visit.

Happy Anniversary!

Firstly, happy anniversary CB and Mrs CB! Thirty nine years is no mean feat. As I’m certain you’ll attest to. Lol

Mrs Tree and I recently celebrated number 19. I was fortunate enough to be in town that weekend as this year has been insanely busy with field work.

We initially considered a weekend in the mountains, but it was limited in terms of availability and obscenely expensive.

Ultimately, what we opted for was a ‘staycation’. Booked a fancy room at the Fairmont Paliser in downtown Calgary, strolled the zoo previous to check in on a beautiful day, had a fancy supper at Ruth Chris’s in the tower next door then strolled Stephen Avenue. It was awesome.

One doesn’t have to go far to feel far.

Enjoy!

Tree

Happy Anniversary & congratulations! Not many make it to 39 years.
Sunterra do “To go” meals. They also have meal kits.
M & M have some decent heat & eat options.
Fondue is easy and fun
Canmore is nice this time of year. So is Kananaskis.
Rent a cabin instead of a room.
Check out the fall larches.
Pamper her. Couples massage.

Great place, we have been there before COVID hit, stayed at the Kananaskis resort we’re this spa is, I forgot the name…. The place is awesome, great restaurant and awesome grounds. It is not cheap thou, so be prepared to spend a few bucks. The spa is awesome and not only for a woman but for a man too. They have a saunas there with multiple pools with different temperatures water.
BEFORE YOU GO - check if they are open! We wanted to go there a few months ago and the spa was closed because of COVID.

We had our forty-ninth last week. Pickled beets together in the afternoon, ordered pizza and watched the Jays. Wife thought it was a great day.
We will have to do something more next year but we have physical limitations.

Glad you added the last sentence. Was a bit worried for a minute after reading the first two sentences.

So what happened? You haven't updated. Did you not survive the silly choice you made? Or did she like what you chose, and you're now too exhausted to type??

Either way congratulations!! It doesn't seem that relationships are supposed to last that long anymore. It's good to hear that it still works out for some people.

It's cheap, easy, and she will be smiling and giggling having a good time all day.

You could leave her at home with a table full of snacks and go out hunting.

Perfect day IMO.

This

And write her a letter

The fancy suppers are old news. Be creative. Pick her flowers as you hike. Make it about her. Show her she doesnt know everything about you
