Default No beer at FIFA 2022

No beer to be allowed in the Qatar stadiums. Now what will the British lager louts/soccer hooligans drink?

You know what they say, " when in Rome". Public intoxication is probably jail time or at least 100 lashes.

Why did they pick Qatar? Must have been a money deal. I don't know. I do not follow soccer (football) in any way. I know 2 players. Messi and Renaldo.

With all the human rights violations ( as has been brought up) they still awarded them the biggest sports world event.

This event should have been boycotted by everyone, but it wasn't.
Any voluntary attendee that runs afoul of local law deserves whatever happens next.

As for football/soccer in general? Guy Martin said it best.

This is why a person should be able to drink while watching soccer.

Budweiser sponsored this FIFA event to the tune of about $80 million, and Qatar originally agreed to allow booze until they knew it was too late to change venues and then pulled the plug. I’m sure Budweiser will be lookimg for a refund.

I bought tickets to Olympic Diving once and they sent me soccer tickets.

The best actors in the world are soccer players who pretend it’s a sport

My buddy is on his way there right now. Interesting what he is going to say after this trip. He is actually happy that there is no beer on a stadium- it was $15US FOR A CUP and he has his son with him….I told him to bring a bladder and tape it to his back, lol!
I was in Moscow for the previous tournament in 2018 and it was a blast!

FIFA Uncovered on Netflix is not a bad watch that explains what is happening.

Whaddeva, if you need beer to enjoy a sporting event, likely an Oilers fan.

Default Beer

They said when you're in Rome you act accordingly. I see no reason for all this fuss in the media. I think the World has much more issues than beer. I come in peace

Agree 100% Rather than awarding the World Cup they should be handing out Academy Awards.

Well, I'll do my part by not attending, and not watching any of it.
Who's with me?

I am with you. I was once asked if I wanted to play soccer, my response was "no, I can skate, so I play hockey!"

Funny, because about 4 billion people in the world would disagree with this statement.

It's played in so many countries, because it doesn't require much equipment , and it can be played pretty much anywhere.

^ True. However, anyone who tried playing soccer will tell you that it is a real sport as any other. Unlike baseball, for example, lol.

In a move that quickly received international backlash, the World Cup host country of Qatar has banned the sale of beer in or near arenas where matches will be played. With beer sales outlawed, the World Cup's estimated 1 million attendees will be forced to just sit there and watch soccer.

FIFA organizers responded to Qatar's alcohol ban by flopping onto the ground and screaming as if gravely injured.

"What's the point of watching soccer if you can't get plastered enough to not have to watch soccer?" one high ranking FIFA offical stated.

Long-time FIFA sponsor, Budweiser, expressed regret at not being a vital part of soccer's tradition of fans getting blindly drunk and fighting one another rather than watching an incredibly dull, tedious sport.

I love watching soccer when my granddaughters are playing, other than that I can't really say it turns my crank.

I did go to the qualifier against Costa Rica in Edm last year in Nov, took my granddaughters who both play club soccer, they were pumped which made it all worth while.
