So from what I understand from this post an AHEIA membership for $30 will satisfy the requirements as a range membership for long term transport permit for restricted firearms?
That is correct, it gives you access to their restricted approved range so that covers the legalities. Whether you actually ever make the drive to use their range is another matter entirely. That it also is a good organization that educates hunters and provides outdoor advocacy is just icing on the cake. I posted this thread 3.5 years ago and the membership has sufficed for the CFO for a number of restricted purchases since.

Just wondering after joining does AHEIA send proof of membership in the mail or is it online.
They send a membership card in the mail, takes a week or two to process and get to you.
The AHEIA range is at Alford Lake west of Caroline, you can call the camp and talk to the manager on site and find a time to get out to the range as well.
