Default Whitemud/blackmud creek

So I was searching the forum and on a thread I read that u can fly fish for chub on this creek and apparently the Whitemud gets one heck of a sucker run juring late April through may so just wondering any of this true? And has anyone ever fished up these creeks and caught anything?

(just looking for some fight on the fly rod before trout season picks up down south and don't feel like fishin the big river)

Thanks in advance for any advice

Whitemud creek definately has suckers in it, one of my close freinds found a 12inch dead one on the creek bank -This was near terwilleger town. I also know that it holds a nice population of minnows (lake chub, stickle back, some other types i can't identify) because i have netted, trapped and even eaten some (i know..)

Seems funny in a way that it doesnt support a population of pike/walleye due too all the food in it. I guess because its so shallow and freezes too the bottom in places.

Not sure if that helps at all??

Tight lines!
