Default Rechargable batteries

The batteries on my Dewalt drill do not hold a charge for long anymore so I went to Home Depot to grab one. Well they sell them by the pair and the list was $175.00. I can get a new drill with batteries and charger for just over $200 so was wondering if anyone ever found a reasonable place to just buy the batteries.

There was flyer for Peavey mart and they were $100 for two. I threw the flyer out but I'm pretty sure it was peavey. I just bought two from Blackrock tools for $100 plus shipping.

http://batteryworld.net/

My son had a few packs rebuilt a couple years ago. Way cheaper than buying new.

I've bought sealed lead acid batteries from them to replace worn out ones in my UPSes.

Was it the older 18v XRP batteries? Yes, they sell them in pairs for $179 http://www.homedepot.ca/product/18v-...bo-pack/922261

But Home Depot also has the very same battery, sold in singular for $60 each: http://www.homedepot.ca/product/dewa...ry-pack/944276

Keep in mind, these are the old NiCad type batteries. They are discontinued, with Lithium Ion being the new standard. That's why DeWalt is blowing out those old NiCad drill combo sets for $199 for two drills, two batteries and a charger.

I tried this. For me charging only takes a few minutes and has about a 1 minute run time. Didn't work for me on 2 batteries. It's cheaper to buy a new drill than to replace the batteries.
