Default Sauer rifles

I have a opportunity to purchase a sauer 202 classic with synthetic stock from a relative in 300 wby but not that familiar with them the action is silky smooth and has had very little use how would they compare with sako Wby etc?

The Sauer 202 is a very fine rifle and compares very favorably with other higher end production rifles. Google is your friend, as are guys that own them. If the price and the gun seem right for you, I suggest that you buy it.

So SauerKraut means ???
If it feels nice and fits well and points well...
Buy it and enjoy it for the engineering marvels it holds.

Rifle is incredible. The real question would be the caliber. Unless you're a hand loader and want that level of power (read revoil) I'd look elsewhere.

I have shot and handled several of these fine rifles guiding and found them all to be extremely well made with high quality craftsmanship. Unfortunately I have not yet purchased one, but would love to do so. Does the rifle you are looking at have a single or double set trigger? They are awesome once one learns how to operate them.

This one has the double set trigger. In a perfect world 300 win would be better than 300 wby but the world is far from perfect.

Was being a little ironic, they are fine rifles, no doubt about it. Know a lady with the surname Saure. Think I'd a changed that.

I am not a gunsmith but wonder if you could have it chambered to 300 Win. Mag, without changing the barrel.

My good friend has a 101 in 7mm RM. Great rifle, shoots most factory ammo sub-moa. One thing to keep in mind, they have a unique thing - which could also be a problem. The bolt locks into the barrel - not to the action, like most rifles, so if you ever have to change a barrel, it won't be easy.

Those Colt 80 and 90 series are beautiful rifles. If I had to do it all over again those would be the only rifles I would have.

Still have a Colt Sauer in 7mm mag. Very nice rifle. Also have a Sauer 80 and a 200 takedown. Probably the smoothest action I have ever cycled

I have a 202xt in 300 win mag. Oh it's a tack driver with factory ammo and oh it has a very nice smooth like butter action. I like the safety system on it although I have seen some complaints that it is odd having the release in the trigger guard. I just thought it was the Germans doing the German thing" I like it.
