You will need permission, I have the same tag. There is some crown land that hold Elk, but most are long gone the time rifle season starts up.

Tomahawk and area is still in 336 and permission is next to impossible unless you know someone.

Good luck on your quest.

What we did was contact the local F&W to see if any local farmers had registered any bale depredation complaints. They might be able to point you in the right direction.

I have permission on a decent amount of private land in 334 but mostly on east side of it.
I'll have to get some more.

I always get my Mulie and moose along with WT.

Just don't see elk as much.

This post ****ed me off. I live in wmu334 and hunt it 350 days a year. Why would people apply for draws they have no effort or clue about. I put the miles, cameras, and feed until mid August in this zone. Why do you deserve the answer for my hard work.

I was waiting for this response.

I've put in effort. I have 1 camera. I have more than no clues.

I do not however have feed as I live in a city.

What sort of guideline should I follow before I apply for this draw?

Or you could just not answer and keep your mouth shut?

Thanks.

Lol. K gonna help. I'll regret this later. Permission is the first goal. Second county maps. Once you figure out what area you want to concentrate helps. Honestly for me elk. Lindale area is good if you can get permission. Unfortunately where I've seen cow elk had a hard time getting permission. south of hwy 39 find crown land. Ihunter ab is pretty good. Seen lots of bull elk west of pigeon Lake toward Brenton good luck getting permission. coyote Lake is good for cow elk. Have to apply a year in advance bow only.

Elk permission in 334 is hard to come by. Canadian tire sells cams 2 for $100 I have a ton of cams out. Bait you can put out until mid August, stock iodized salt, stock mineral salt, oats and molasses will work at peavy mart or ufa.

Thanks man.
I have some private land that I can hunt between Breton and drayton.
I've heard about herds around some of the areas you mentioned before plus a few more. I was more looking for confirmation.

I do have the newest county map.
I've looked into the NCC and its seems like a bit of a waste of time.

Thanks for your tips.

You Can't hunt on what used to be crown land along the river from the Bridge at Drayton downriver all the way to the HWY 759 bridge commonly known as the Berrymore or Tomahawk bridge. All this former crown land on both sides of the river is now Eagle Point Provincial Park and no hunting whatsoever is allowed in the park.

Sorry to say, but alot of locals wait for their draw, that being said, there are elk in 334, hint for ya... know the zone and follow the river, You just have to find the pockets of elk... not an easy hunt but good luck.

PS.. I have land in the said wmu, and hunt out there ,,

That's what I was told by fish and wildlife just make sure camera's are out and to stop putting down feed before hunting season starts. he asked what I put down and told me I was good to go.

I used to do the same but for some reason I'm sure that is illegal now to hunt areas that have been previously baited are Trails leading to someone correct me if I'm wrong

Only legal to put down bait, mineral etc in Saskatchewan. In Alberta totally illegal regardless of when you put it down period.
