Blaser R 93 or R8 in 7mm STW is what I like. I feel comfortable killing it all with this. I would have even shot my cape buffalo with it no prob. Shoot some Barnes TTSX and good to go. I've killed Eland with it and you can't find much bigger critter to kill than that.

Dang it! you just beat me to it!
I have a few drillings, most with 16x16 over a decent game caliber. One of my favorites is a 16x16 over 7x65r. Decent power for most anything here in Alberta.

20 Gauge
Big enough for geese and won't destroy a grouse. 265 grain slugs will flatten anything within 75-100 yards. Can even shoot skeet for fun and the kids can use it.

Since the question included geese, will have to go with a drilling or a 12 gauge. However, multiple shot capability of the shotgun would give it the edge especially for dangerous game. I'm going to have to go look into this Hammond Game Getter.
Otherwise a bolt action 30-06 would be the closest to a 1 firearm hunt anything around IMO. Not ideal for either end of the scale, but can't think of anything bigger or smaller working better for rabbit to Cape buffalo!
What does a rabbit look like after getting hit with a 375 Ruger anyway?

One firearm, or one cartridge chambering?
For the former, the obvious choice would be a double barrel in 12/20gauge x some rifle chambering.
If only one cartridge, it's hard to beat the versatility of a gun that can shoot small shot, as well as a large, solid projectile with a lot of energy. 12 gauge would be my pick

A few years ago I bought a Brno 602 in 458 Win from some one on this site and boy am I glad. I had to put a stock on it and it fits me not bad. Full load 500 grain loads kick pretty good. 300 grains at roughly 2600 feet has a recoil like a 12 gauge magnum.
I have a few bullet molds that would work for it and if things were a little different, I would like to work up a few loads for it. Paper patched comes to mind.
I know this doesn't address the game bird issue but I could live with that.

The OP specified do all firearm! The OP also said do all...nothing more or nothing less.
This seems to imply that doing well is not a requirement?
That said, my choice would be a smooth bore repeater, with a choice of shot or solid. I would trust a mechanical pump over an auto loader and would prefer larger magazine cap over a mechanical double.
I know that bore or caliber was not the question but my choice would be 20 before 12. At my age I would prefer a firearm with ease of carry over one heavier and larger. Some day I may get eaten by a grizz but probably never get run over by a cape buffalo, but along the way I will eat well.

Drilling. Hard to say whether I'd opt for my favoured combo of 20ga x 20ga x 243 win or go a bit heavier with something like a 12 ga x 12 ga x 30-06.
If there was an option to mix the shotty barrels then I'd take one of each in 20 and 12. Maybe a 25-06 is a good compromise on the rifle barrel. Something along those lines anyway.

Since the receiver is the firearm, TC switch barrel would be the right answer.

If s person is truly looking st one gun fir anything anytime a combination gun is the end all and be all
12 or 16 gauge on the bottom and you choice of cartridge on the top or a drilling ( which of course us heavier)
The Europeans have been using these guns for a very long time for birds to boats in the same day .
We don't have to do generally Don't although I know s few friends who have hunted with them and I use a 12 / 308 for a bit

Valmet combo.
My Valmet 412 12 gauge(3 inch)/.308 Win. and it is topped with the factory scope mount and a Leupold Vari-III 1.5 - 5 power. Accurate and I have the spare 12 gauge o/u barrels with it as well.

I used to carry and break action double 30-30 over a 20 gauge in my plane as a survival weapon in the Yukon. Seemed pretty versatile.

The small barrel insert is a Kreighoph 22 Mag that fits in one of the 12 gauge barrels and hits to exactly same point of aim as the rifle barrel at 25 and 50 yards. The scope comes off in 2 seconds.

Probably look at 12 gauge on top and '06 on the bottom.
