CZ 452, YoDave trigger kit

For sillywets a Tasco 6x24 fine ret target scope and AO will make the weight limit.

For the gopher patch a Millett TRS-1 Adorns the top 4x16 AO MD

I have a custom 10/22 that is quite accurate....also the Weatherby Mark XXII's (Anshutz Match 64 action on 2 of them) that I own are very accurate with the right ammo.

Smile My very old cooey

I have a 10/22 which is very good but the old cooey single shot I bought new 100 years ago for $15 I earned from my paper route is still the best. I have a full size scope on it (1") and the rest is the same as it came from sears.

It still is important not to wave the barrel around when shooting to get the most out of the gun. Can you squeeze the trigger and not shake off a dime balanced on the barrel?

My father once mentioned that the old M37 Remington I have was just as accurate as the new( at the time) Anschutz 1418 free rifles.
I know that it is hellish accurate at 200 tards, for sure!

My Russian Strella is also very accurate, but too heavy for most shooters .

Default who sells anschutz?

Thanks for the pics Cat! those are some neat lookin' pieces. Now the big question is: Where can I get one of those? I've got a feeling it won't be at wholesale sports.

don't know if i can honestly answer which one is the most accurate because i don't seem to shoot as good as i once did. i will say that i seem to do my best personally with my anshutz 1403 (64 action), probably because it fits like a glove when i slide in behind it and it doesn't seem to swim as much as lets say the cil 180 (64 action).

Ruger 10/22, Volquartsen trigger, Green Mountain bull barrel. I can knock the primer out of a spend shotgun shell all day long at 50 yards, little wind to no wind and from a bench rest.

It was ok before the trigger job but amazing after.

Sell your old barrel, trigger and stock and pickup a target barrel, stock and trigger. The cost difference is not much after selling parts as you have a great base to work from.

My old (early 1940s) Remington Model 510 Targetmaster (single-shot bolt action) is my most accurate. Scary accurate, actually; wears only iron sights.

It's embarrassing but my most accurate .22 is a Savage Mk I single shot. Had a 10/22. Upgraded it with a Dlask receiver, Timney trigger, Green Mountain barrel, match pin and spring kit and Shooters ridge thumbhole stock. After all that it shot as well as the $75 Savage with Federal ammunition. It was pretty even using different ammo. So I sold the 10/22 and used the proceeds to buy a Marlin model 60 (not as accurate but feeds well) and a beat up but pre-64 Win 94. Its crazy but with the Ruger shortage people will pay a lot for 10/22s.

Marlin golden 39A. Over a thousand gophers, so I guess it's pretty accurate.

Well, the 54 is the older style action, but they are around.
The M37 however was discontinued many years ago, that one is a '56 model IIRC, with the factory installed sweeney trigger.
The Stella - heck only knows??

The 452 is good for hunter class and makes weight with a decent scope.
The Anschutz 54MS and 64MS are the cat's meow and consistant winners.
For Handgun, the Exemplar will shoot perfect scores with a 4X or 6X.
Others may be okay for dog shooting, but some .22 silhouette targets are smaller than a gopher's head! ...........and long rifle only!!

Accuracy is a very broad term- one shouldn't confuse target accuracy and hunting accuracy .
You wouldn't be taking a 39A to a match rifle shoot, but you certainly wouldn't want to try shooting gophers along side a nice light repeater with an Anschutz 54, either!!

I can't imagine dragging that thing through a gopher field.
I can see setting it up on a bench however and taking them out at 200 yards with a scope on it!!

If you plan on shooting silhouettes in a serious manner just take note that a lot of the firearms posted here will not fit within the rules.

None of the ones I( posted will, that's for sure, but my C.I.L. 310 makes weight for hunter class and my C.I.L. 190 certainly makes weight for UNL.!

the most accurate .22 I have is my 10/22T, and thats because it's the only .22 I have. It will be going to a local 'smith for accurizing, as It is certainly capable of better accuracy than it puts out now.....

I also have two .17's, a Savage 93R17 BSEV (.17HMR) that I paid over 600.00 for new, and a Marlin 917 (.17M2) that was 150.00 new.... of the two, the 917 is like a LASER! it is retarded accurate.... kinda threw me for a loop. I bought it for my Son, so we could shoot gopher's together, instead of sharing my .17.....

goes to show, that even the cheapest can be capable of great accuracy!

GiNNz!

i bought a Ruger 10/22T for my kid for Christmas. Put a Leupold vx1 2-7 on it and went to sight it in. 2.5" group at 50 yds. Tried 8 different types of ammo and the best it would do was about 2". Took it back and got him a savage mark II BSEV. It won't drive tacks but at least it will do a 1/2" at 50.

The Valmet has accounted for a lot of gophers, I usually sat in a chair, with a tripod to support it, is is a tad heavy to tote around. Real nice for silhouettes.

I don't think the Valmet makes weight for unlimited, does it?
