Jays starting pitching looks good.
Morales picking up where Encarnacion left off?
Things are looking good here. What do you think?
Regular season starts Monday against Baltimore.

1st and both L and R field are a bit dubious but I am optimistic. Should make a good run again this year.

Long dramatic season ahead for the boys of summer.
Tough when you play for a city or state but this team is playing for Canada.

Yes and with King threatening to take the Fames and go, I would rather watch the Jays anyway.

pitching looks good . the offence will tell the story as they go ... Boston is the team to beat in the AL east , but if the stars line up for the Jays , who knows ...

I'm really fascinated with the Upton, Goins and Carrera triangle going on. Only two can make it to the 40 man! Goin will hit waivers and be gone if he doesn't.
And they're still keeping Smoak. Whose a avid hunter and that's basically the only reason I like him!

If they can stay healthy it looks good. Need to slow down the injuries compared to last year. Of what I've seen so far the pitching looks pretty good. Go Jays Go!

Upton was released today after unsuccessfully trying to trade him. Outfield kinda thin now. I liked his speed too.

True but Dickey is gone so they won't be using the bullpen as extensively.
Osuna is hurt now too though

They don't look as strong as last year, but that rotation is one of the best. Should be a great season!

I think the season will hinge on the health of Devon Travis as well as the starting rotation. The Red Sox aren't out of the woods with starting pitcher health either. Pomeranz and Price are going to dictate if they win the AL east. The dark horse is the Yankees.
I predict: wildcard birth for the jays
Morales has a monster year
Devon Travis puts it all together as a lead off hitter
Tulo has a better year
Smoak to hit under .200 and be gone by July with tellez getting the promotion.
Osunas injury is of concern.
Should be a wild ride.

Estrada starting tonight against Gausman. Should be a good one.
I really like Jason Grilli. Even though he is the oldest guy on the team, I like his intensity.

Go time! Can't wait to see what this year's team brings. Bullpen seems iffy right now, but that can be tinkered with all year. So long as Morales and Pearce show some power and don't strike out all the time, I like the additions, though EE back would have been preferred...
LET'S GO JAYS!!

A very good decision. Upton useless. Goins awesome. Did Gibbons just do something right?

Decent game, Grilli made one mistake in the 11th, and that's the game.

Yup. I'm a goins fan myself and given the ab's he might prove himself.
But I'm also a smoak fan. Just wish he would help me out a bit and hit the ball every so often.
I still don't know why we let Revere go....

Yep too bad the Jays could drive some more guys home. Had 11 innings of good pitching, good defence, 12 hits...
Pearce and Morales played well too.
Tough loss but it would have been tougher if they hadn't showed up.
loved the bat throwing ha

First off take a breath! It's April 14th! Second once we get going we will basically destroy the east. We have the resources but are just lacking the confidence of the main power in our team. There's not a lot of fielding errors being made either. Biggest issue is leaving guys on the bases and rough starting pitchers. But we've played some pretty strong pitching teams so far. It'll come boys it'll come!
And Smoak for Christ sakes has been carrying the offence! So when our worst guy comes out that strong we are will be a great team! He's improved a lot and the big dogs will get their stuff together!

Oooof. Rough first 2 weeks for sure, but yes, it is definitely still early.
Starting pitching has been ok - not great but they're still giving the team a shot to win it after 6-7 innings. It's their offence that has let them down, big time.
Morales and Tulo have been the bright spots thus far. If Jose, Martin, Travis, etc were hitting even close to normal, there's a real possibility this team is 7-3 and not 1-9.
Like I said, it's still early, but they're going to have to put together a couple good runs in the next 2 months to keep pace. If not, come the end of July we may see some core pieces being moved for younger prospects to start "rebuilding".
I'm confident everyone will start moving the batting average needle closer to the mean. As a team, they can't and won't hit 0.190 for much longer.

I was with the boys in the hockey dressing room yesterday. After our game it dawned on me that I cheer for the Canucks and Blue Jays. The boys on my team got a good laugh at my expense. Haha
Rough year!
I still hold out hope for the jays. They're still in games and playing as bad as they possibly can. They'll fluke one out here and get going

That's how it seem to go sometimes, hey? They'll get a huge timely hit from an unlikely source (Barney, Goins, Coughlan) to win or tie the game, and that will spark the team.

You called it. Barney with the first RBI and morales with a moon shot. Hopefully they get going now

Ha! I laughed pretty hard when he hit that single. It's too bad Osuna couldn't close it out, but a W is a W! Need to pick up another one tomorrow.
