Thumbs up Worth the Wait - B&C Bighorn Sheep 2016

Well I thought I would share my sheep hunt pictures after seeing the positive responses to pictures posted on the forum this year. I know I always enjoy when others post their stories.

Took me 10 years of sheep hunting before I got my first. Many of KMs on the boots before I even had a shot. But boy was it worth the wait!

Glassing for rams in the thick bush:

Camping in grizzly country you have to make a fence. The idea was that we would hear a bear coming through the wood logs before it hit the tent. Not sure if it would have worked, but made us feel safer:

Some rams from the band:

My first ever ram:

My brother has now helped hike out four rams, with one of his own. He passed up on a small legal ram in the same band:

Haul out took a while with lots of breaks:

For those interested in scores, both lengths are over 40" with matching 16 3/4" bases. The rough green score was 187.

Can't wait to get back out there!

I've never known how it's done, but do you de-bone the meat and pack it out inside the backpacks?

I've never seen any part of a ram other than the head in any pics so I'm curious as to how you pack the rest out.

Yes everything get deboned and packed out in the back packs .. nothing like sheep ribs over an open fire !!
